Delete a website
What is removed when you delete a website and how to do it safely.
Deleting a website permanently removes it and all its data from our servers. This article explains what is removed, what stays and how to do it.

Warning
Deleting a website cannot be undone. Download everything you want to keep before you continue.
What is deleted
| Removed with the website | Not removed |
|---|---|
| All files of the website | Databases |
| Domains connected to the website | E-mail hostings |
| HTTPS certificates | |
| Settings of the website |
Databases and e-mail hostings are separate services. They are not deleted with the website; if you no longer need them, delete them separately.
Before you delete
- Download your files. Use an FTP/SFTP client, or open the File manager, choose Create ZIP archive from the ··· menu of the
wwwrootfolder and download the archive. - Check your domains. The domains connected to the website stop working with it. If you plan to use a domain elsewhere, change its DNS records after the website is deleted.
- Only want another name? You do not have to delete the website — see Rename a website.
