Syncing Contacts with Microsoft Outlook

This article contains information how to setup syncing Contacts between SmarterMail interface and Microsoft Outlook.

Guide to setup Syncing Contacts with Microsoft Outlook

Syncing Contacts and Calendar between our SmarterMail server and your Microsoft Outlook need to be setup in Webmail interface.

1) Open WebMail interface

After clicking Add to Outlook, message should appear Asking for permission to open Outlook. Then Outlook will show prompt to add Contacts. Before confirming you can click Advanced... to change how Contacts syncs between devices or to rename folder as shown in screenshot below.

2) Outlook Contacts

After clicking Yes to Connect this SharePoint Contacts to Outlook, it will be added under Other Contacts.
By default contacts will not appear in Address book when you write new message. To add them, right-click on our added Contact list in Other Contacts, choose Properties, go to Outlook Address Book tab and check Show this folder as an email Address Book and click OK.

DONE! Your Contacts Syncing is successfully configured.

3) Global Address List

By default only My Contacts from your mailbox are synced to Outlook. If you also want to sync GAL (Global Address List), which includes all email addresses in your domain, you need to do same steps, but when clicking Add to Outlook button, choose Global Address List instead. See the screenshot below.

Don't forget that Contacts syncing will start when you click on Send/Receive (All folders) same as e-mails.
