Setting Up Microsoft Outlook (IMAP & SMTP)

Guide to Setting Up Microsoft Outlook (IMAP & SMTP)

1) Open Outlook and Add an Account
  • Open Microsoft Outlook.
  • Click on File > Add Account.
  • Email Address: email@yourdomain.com
  • Password: yourpassword
  • click Next.
2) Manual Server Configuration.

Click: Advanced options: Let me set up my account munually

In the POP and IMAP Account Settings window, enter:

  • Your Name: (e.g., "Peter Parker" – this will be visible to recipients)
  • Email Address: email@yourdomain.com

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

Server: (You can find the server in your control panel, see the screenshot)
Port: 993
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

Server: (You can find the server in your control panel, see the screenshot)
Port: 465
Encryption Method: SSL/TLS

Login Information

Username: email@yourdomain.com
Password: yourpassword
Check Remember password

3) Configure Additional Settings
  • Click on More Settings.

  • Go to the Outgoing Server tab and check:

    • "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication"
    • Select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
  • Go to the Advanced tab and confirm:

    • Incoming server (IMAP): 993, Encryption: SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465, Encryption: SSL/TLS

Click OK, then Next, and Outlook will test the settings.

4) Verify and Finish Setup
  • If the test is successful, click Finish.
  • If an error occurs, double-check the server settings and try again.
5) Test Your Email Account
  • Send a test email to ensure outgoing emails are working.
  • Receive an email to confirm incoming mail is functional.

If you experience issues, check the server settings, update authentication methods, or try restarting Outlook.
